Robert – Owner

Robert was born and raised in Central Vermont. After two tours in Vietnam, Robert headed back to Vermont to start a construction business. Therrien Foundations was formed and operated for 36 years, until he bought The Carriage Shed. Since he took the business over in 2004, it has grown from mostly smaller sized sheds to buildings of all sizes – especially custom-built larger structures.

He loves working closely with the Amish and helping them design bigger and better structures for our customers. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, exploring nature, and working on his property which includes his very own Cozy Cabin – one of our modular log style homes that we sell.

Jenny – Manager

Jenny was born and raised in Vermont. Even though she made her escape attempt to the Caribbean for two years, she made her way back to her home state. She does question her sanity during the middle of winter, when there is about 4’ of snow outside. She enjoys working with her family and friends on a daily basis. It makes for a fun filled work atmosphere.

Jenny graduated from the University of Vermont with a degree in Anthropology and Cultural Geography. She loves that she is still able to put her Anthropology background to good use by working with the Amish. She spends any time she can in her happy place – reading and reviewing books for her “bookstagram”, you can find her on Instagram under @Diveintoagoodbook. 

Jake – Sales, Deliveries, and Robert’s Right-Hand Man

Jake was born and raised in Amish Country Pennsylvania. He has been working around construction in some way since he was a kid. Before he came to The Carriage Shed in 2016, he was framing greenhouses and homes in beautiful Montana. He has traveled to all the lower 48 and hopes to complete the last 2 states at some point in his life. He knows our buildings and how they are constructed inside and out. He delivers all of our structures to our customers and will help with any project we can come up with.

Jake has recently become our point person on our line of modular log homes – Cozy Cabins and Tiny Homes. If you are interested in making one of these homes into your own, he is the man to speak to. In his free time, he enjoys fishing, tinkering around at his very own Cozy Cabin with wife Rachael, and visiting his family back in Pennsylvania.

Rachael – Executive Assistant

Rachael was born and raised in Vermont and moved to Georgia when she was 14 years old. She graduated from Shorter University in Rome, Georgia, with a degree in Communication Studies and a minor in Spanish Language. Though she lived in the South for 8 years, the Green Mountains were always her home, and she moved back to Vermont after graduation in 2019.

Rachael joined us here at The Carriage Shed in the fall of 2022 and instantly became like family. When she isn’t working, she likes to spend time boating with her family, gardening, and singing karaoke. Rachael and Jake got married in October 2025 in their brand new very own Cozy Cabin home!

Amy – Creative Consultant

Amy was also born and raised in Central Vermont. She Graduated from The University of Maine Orono with a BFA, focusing in painting and sculpture in 2011. Amy is now consulting with The Carriage Shed as needed, and is following her passion of art full time. In her free time, she loves to travel, spend time with her husband – Alex Drew – and their two dogs – Possum and Goose.
