Modular Two Car Garages

Modular Two Car Garages

Modular Two-Car Garages are wonderful for those who want to have space upstairs and keep the snow off their 4 or 2 wheeled friends.

They can be upgraded to have a 12-pitch roof, giving you a good deal of headroom.

These buildings go together quickly and easily. They can be customized to fit all your needs; place them on a concrete slab or upgrade to a wood floor to prevent moisture.

The loft is a wonderful space to put an office, a studio, or a family room, or it can even be insulated and turned into a place for guests.

Modular Two-Car Garage FAQs

Any type of construction planning generates questions. It is the nature of construction.

We view any question that you may have as an important question. Your new modular two-car garage will be an important part of your property and we want to get it just right for you.

Here are some common questions, but feel free to ask any questions.

We are here to help you make the best decisions about your garage project.

Pros of a detached garage:

There are several pros to having a detached garage.

Pros:

  • If you have a tricky lot, a detached garage may help to make it all fit and look great.
  • A detached garage allows your driveway to come in front of the house OR to the side, depending on which side of the garage you place the doors.
  • If you build a room above the garage, a detached garage will be better for isolating noise. You may appreciate a detached garage if a family member is learning to play the drums.
  • Additionally, the bonus space makes a great secluded home office and will result in fewer distractions and interruptions.
  • If you need or want to build in phases, a detached garage is easier to add before or after the rest of the house.
Is it easy to add a loft above the garage?

A room built into the space over the garage is often referred to as a loft. Because garages are so large, their roofs create an option for some additional usable space. If the garage is framed to create a loft, this extra usable space will be additional square footage for your home.

TO BUILD OR NOT TO BUILD a Loft

If you’re building from scratch, it makes sense to go ahead and have the space over the garage framed for a loft, whether you plan to finish it right away or not.

You may change your mind later and decide that extra space would benefit your family, so to have designed the extra space as an option will be wise.

Also, there’s no better way to increase your home’s value than additional square footage.

You’re already paying for the roof over this space; you might as well have it framed for a loft. So, instead of trusses and diagonal cross-bracing everywhere, we can design vertical walls to support the roof and create a loft.

Do you need to prepare the site of a modular garage?

The simple answer is yes since an important part of every structure is the foundation.

The better the quality of the foundation, the more this will help with your modular garage’s longevity. Before installing the modular garage, we needed to ensure that the site has been prepared properly.

The Carriage Shed can help to ensure the site preparation is proper.

Who is in charge of checking zoning regulations, getting permits, and putting in a foundation?

Though The Carriage Shed does supply a foundation plan and structural prints, the customer is responsible for all site work and foundation needs before the building can be delivered. They are also responsible for any post set up landscaping or finished grading. We suggest contacting your local town office for information regarding permits and zoning regulations.
