No Maintenance Shed Siding

An envious neighbor wishes he had bought a shed with effortless siding.

If you are looking for a type of siding with much less upkeep than natural wood, manufactured siding is a wonderful option. It is made to look like natural wood without having to paint or stain it as often, if at all. Look at the top 4 effortless siding types the Carriage Shed offers.

T-111 Siding

T-111 siding is a Duratemp ® product – 5/8” Plywood with an engineered wood face. It is manufactured using wood products, adhesives, and other materials to help prevent decay and bug infestation.

A vertical siding that has a wood grain stamped into the surface gives a natural wood appearance. Duratemp ® T-111 holds paint extremely well. You can paint or stain this siding; we suggest painting over staining because the stain will not hold up as well.

T-111 is one of the most economical sidings we offer.

LP ® Smartside Clapboard Siding

Smartside is an engineered wood, it is manufactured by using wood products, adhesives, and other materials to help prevent decay and bug infestation. It is known for its durability. It is an environmentally friendly product; the company uses the whole log during the manufacturing process.

What they do not use in the siding they use to fuel the LP® mills.

It is a horizontal siding that is stamped with a wood face giving it a natural wood appearance. The clapboards are placed by overlapping the boards much like shingles on a roof. It is typically placed 4” to the weather, meaning that the clapboard might be 8” wide but only 4” of the board is showing.
